The Blind Date
Limited Capacity full

Modeled after the core principles of reviews and rating bourbons on the podcast, Bonded In Bourbon; this blind date will lead guests through a unique speed=dating experiment with various brands of bourbon. This casual seminar will force guests to ditch brand loyalty, and challenge their senses by focusing on the 5 core descriptors used in Moonshine University’s Stave and Thief Society teaching manuals: Appearance, Nose, Taste, Mouthfeel, and Finish.

Up to 50 Guests will enter into a private room where 5 Stations will be setup. Like a round of speed dating, guests will have 10 minutes at each table to taste, discuss and judge the presented bourbon ‘date’ with their table-mates. When the buzzer dings; scores will be tallied and then will switch to a new table where they will meet their next ‘date’ and will start the process all over again. Once everyone has worked their way around the room; the bourbons will be revealed while all of the scores will be tallied up. The winning bourbon will be announced and will be crowned the ‘The Best Blind Date’ of the seminar.

Samara Rivers and Armond Davis, founder of Black Bourbon Society and co-hosts of the Bonded in Bourbon Podcast, will host and moderate this event.

Why You Can Thank Bourbon for Safe Food in America
Limited Capacity full

In the 19th century, whiskey distillers led the way in guaranteeing the quality of what Americans ate and drank. George Garvin Brown, founder of Brown-Forman, was the first to sell his whiskey exclusively in glass bottles when he released Old Forester in 1870. Col. E.H. Taylor, Jr., who at one time owned what is today Buffalo Trace and built what is now Castle & Key Distillery, was among the distillers who campaigned for the Bottled-in-Bond Act of 1897. Tastings of Old Forester and Col. E.H. Taylor Bottled-in-Bond will accompany the history.

Bourbon Mixology
Limited Capacity full

From presenter Bobby G: When preparing and serving great cocktails, a complete sensory perception should enlighten and leave your guest with a memorable experience. A great bartender is someone who will be able to stimulate all of the human senses without them even knowing it:

Sight - witnessing the artistry of a bartender at work
Sound - the tinkling of shaker, the rattle of crackling ice
Smell - the aroma and character of spirits and liqueurs being mixed with fresh squeezed fruits, peels and herbs
Touch - the encouraging feel of a well chilled glass and the mouth feel of different textures
Taste - the overall impression of a well balanced satisfying concoction

Always remember this: A GOOD COCKTAIL IS NOT A STRONG COCKTAIL. A GOOD COCKTAIL IS A WELL BALANCED COCKTAIL, ALWAYS SEEK THE BALANCE!
